Topic City
I moved here about 5 years ago and after seeing the nature, landscape, lakes and parks and spectacular greenery I fell in love. But a change crept up to me after dealing with the locals or "Seattleites." I realize that this is the most antisocial, dead and boring people in the World!!! I also think they epitomize the Passive Agressiveness mentality that I AM SLOWLY BECOMING!!!!
THE ONLY THING I LOVE ABOUT SEATTLE IS TELLING PEOPLE HOW MUCH I HATE THIS GOD FORSAKEN TOWN!!! There goes my top..
whew..When can people here realize to seek help in the Social department and realize they live in a SOCIETY which actually requires interaction with other people?
and to the people who defend this fucking town, you can shove it up your Subaru driving,UDUB going, Latte drinking, snowboarding,Northface wearing, tattoo sporting, hiking boots wearing, liberal thinking, 35 mile an hour driving, jogging all year round hiking, kayaking, biking, ipod wearing narrow minded ass!!
So to all those Single people who is considering moving here..Don't!! Save yourself!!unless you're ready to be a hermit and live in a cave (seattle)

I'm really stuck here. I am single - quite attractive too compared with other Seattle single women. No, I don't mean to brag, but I'm being objective here. I'm slimmer than the average size 14 or 16 that the average Seattle hippo girl. I also don't have body odor and I like to look good and dress well. My personality is outgoing and bubbly. But I still get the blow off all the time from people here. Meanwhile all these fat, bitchy and aggressive Seattle women boink the men (and later on become single mothers) and cart them away for a while. Not that the men are anything to look at anyways. I mean, a millionaire Microsoft geek is still a non-sexy, boring geek after all, but marrying him will still give the benefit of meeting the attractive gardener or pool boy on the side - a silver lining to a dark, boring cloud of a marriage here. Brother, I hear you. I know how you feel. I'm planning my escape from this emerald shitty next summer. Hang in there!

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this particular Seattle quirk. People standing in line at a Starbuck's, or similar places for that matter, tend to stand back several feet longer than I have experienced in other placed I have lived/visited. Either the natives have a particularly wide personal space range or they are afraid of standing next to people. Often times they have to be told by the person behind the counter that it's okay to be next.
Yet another Seattle social peculiarity.

East vs.west, from a westerner living on the east coast. This is all tongue in cheek but they are things I've truly noticed.
Easterners listen to more country western than westerners. Westerners listen to more classical music than easterners.
Easterners walk a lot more than westerners, in their dress shoes and heels. Westerners drive everywhere, in their hiking boots.
Easterners are more friendly and straightforward, and down to earth. But they won't give a handicapped person, or elderly, or pregnant, a seat on the subway. Westerners are much colder, but more polite and would stand up immediately.
Strangers, such as clerks in shops and so forth, are much friendlier in the west. But it's harder to make friends in the west.
Easterners dress up more, no surprise there, but it's very stylish. Westerners are more bohemian. I've bought things in Seattle that I get huge compliments on here.
Many shops here carry jewelry, scarfs, purses, embroidered clothes, made in Seattle.
People in NYC live closer to nature than people in the country. They walk everywhere, carry their groceries, have to dress for the weather more. Fewer conveniences, lower tech, and you climb stairs all day long. But they still dress up more.
I know more westerners who have been to Europe than easterners. And, I know more easterners who have been to Asia than westerners.
In high tech jobs, the eastern hi tech workers are far nerdier than western ones. I think this is because in the west almost everybody works in hi tech. I'm working my way into another industry, thank God.
Westerners think the northeast is one giant metropolis. Easterners think the west is all full of bible thumpers.
You hear a lot more foreign languages on the street in the east.
Westerners cannot fathom driving through three states in one day. Easterners also have no concept of the size of western states. Neither do Europeans.
That's all for now...
