Seattle - Home of heartless commerce.

Upon moving to Seattle in August '04, I immediately began looking for work. Despite a Master's Degree and glowing references from my former employers, I couldn't get anyone to pick the phone up or even send me an e - mail. I honestly think that completion of a 7 or 8 page application and a detailed cover letter deserves SOME kind of a response. Would it be THAT difficult to have a rejection letter on one's desktop to send to unsuccessful candidates? How long would it take to send? Even a minute would cut into " me " time - the favorite time for Seattlites.

Pain..... ahh crap.

Pain is being forced to fall bellow the gloom of the clouds into the archaic, poorly ran, Nazi deathcamp like setting of Sea-tac International. Pain is the disgusting contrast between the elegant lounges in Tokyo to the sterile, poverty driven dives of most of Seattle.

Seattle is a big pile of dog crap

If you are from out of state don't even think about moving here. Especially if you are a conservative rational human being. For starters as you might already know seattle is filled with liberal dumb fucks, who will make your life miserable with their loony thinking and gross arrogance. Then you will pay to much for crappy deteriorating housing and even more woe on you if you rent from seattle's stupid/oppressive landlords. Then the fun begins in a daily commute filled with the usual idiots who can't drive and clog up the freeways driving too slow while there are hundreds of feet of open space in front of them.

What's the deal with jaywalking tickets?

Why jay-walking tickets? I've never heard of anything so stupid. What a waste of time and money! In cities with much more traffic, you can jaywalk if there are no cars in sight and the cops just actually use some common sense.

Music Mecca? Anywhere BUT Seattle.

I came to Seattle in August of 2004 ( I left in July 2005 ) with the aim of trying to find some musicians to play with. Besides Seattle Weekly and The Stranger, I also regularly checked Craig's List. Not only was it obvious that most of the folks posting were complete morons

I was in Seattle this Sunday as the Sonics earned their way to Detroit to compete in the superbowl. While I did not attend the game I did have a wonderful chance to observe one of the great faults in Seattles civil design. There are a LOT more games in a Baseball Season than in a Football Season.

I detested Seattle so much that I left my boyfriend there and moved back to Iowa. I'm staying with a friend and paying half the rent on our Seattle apartment until my boyfriend joins me here in July.

I am planning to leave Seattle in about a year, as soon as I complete grad school. This place is driving me crazy! It is so wrong here on many different levels; I don't even know where to begin.

This is more of a statewide thing, but since Seattleites like to yap about the Northwest in general I thought this applies…

Seattle is world class compared to Boise, Salt Lake City...

Somebody mentioned that most of the posts here are from people who came from NY or Boston. It's not because there are only two or three posters though. It's because the people who move here from the boondocks think it is truly world class. The joke is that then Seattle announced itself as being world class in order to recruit people to work at MSFT. Ha!!

What Being Most Literate City Really Means.

Just as someone we all love to hate reads what he wants into the "Most Overpriced City" moniker, I will read what I want into the "Most Literate City" moniker.
