Lucidity

I think that this site more successfully clarifies why YOU suck, not Seattle, you bitter lonely person. I did laugh at the postings I could stomach to read (really only two), but only because they were so blithering and pathetic. Maybe you should work on your personality for awhile, and chances are you will have less to bitch about. I know I sure don't need people like you living in "my" city. You probably are a "creep" and don't even realize it.

Good places?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here.... :-)
I've got my fair share of reasons for dislking this place after having been here for a couple of years, but I'm tired of dwelling on the subject. What I'm really interested in is what you guys think are some good places to live. What would you recommend? Why excatly? I don't plan to stay here forever, so I just thought I would get some ideas.
Thanks.

I hope this site doesn't go away, not that I have time to maintain in, but somebody is adding junk to the last one so here's my 2 cents - hopefully we'll get some real responses!
Anyway, since I moved back east again I feel like I've been let out of jail. Some of the reasons:

- the homeless were sent to Canada.
- the cops concerned themselves with the drug dealing on the streets rather than the jaywalkers.
- jeans and a t-shirt were not considered appropriate dress for bars and offices.

Seattle Shmeng Conspiracy Theories

It was recently brought to my attention that people on the site have been talking about how I fabricate all of the posts that go up on the main page. I am finally getting around to reading some of it, and laughing. I thought I should clear some stuff up just for the record.
I am Devin. I created this site while I was unfortunate enough to be stuck in Seattle. It was reassuring to know that I was not the only one who thought the place was wrong. It was nice to be reminded that it wasn't me with the issues, and that the reason I had no friends was because of the culture.

Too long ~ too deep

People here don’t want to talk too long about anything too deep, particularly if the topic involves human emotion, art, world travel, theater, and politics not involving salmon, psychotropic medicine or ways to make the human condition better.

I made it out of Seattle

I lived in Seattle for 20 years and can honestly say I regret having spent so much of my life there.
I could have overlooked the traffic, food, and lack of afforadable housing but not the people.
I worked with the same people for years and never developed a single friendship. I tried really I did.

The State Quarter

Recently Washington introduced three designs for its commemorative quarter (all very lame, IMO). A lot of previous posts on this site claim it’s not just Seattle, but the entire state that sucks. So here’s what I think should’ve been the design for the quarter:

I think it's the engineering culture
Posted by: Submit_News on Monday, May 29, 2006 - 08:04 AM |

I don't think it's the city itself or the weather. NY and London have lousy weather and the city is nice.
But think about it...engineers are rude, passive-aggressive, introverted, uncultured, illiterate, and think they're none of these things. (Forgive me - I just got out of an interview and they were unbearably nasty. One even apologized afterwards.)
What's more, they make a big deal out of having a degree, in science or engineering, and scoff at people who study anything else saying, so what kind of job are you going to get then?
