What is wrong with Seattle ?

I grew weary of living in Chicago for over ten years. It seemed like a city on the decline. I couldn't find technical work, I was burned out, and it was time to leave. The last straw was getting parking ticket for a location of the city I had never been (there was a transcription error of the offender's license plate). I fought it for a year and eventually had it dismissed. The modis operandi of the city is to dig in, send nastygrams, and assume the person will give up fighting it and pay.

Let me make this clear - I am not opposed to protests. We as Americans have that right. And, I will defend it to the hilt.

Metro Natural

This has got to be one of the dumbest places to live. Let's try to out law lap dances-but it ok to buy a hand gun 3 days out of a mental home. When they had a rash of school shootings they bought maps of all the schools instead of metal dectors. Duh what the fuck is that going to do? Why not stop school shootings at the door like most citys do. They call this shithole metro natural but no one uses transit, they all drive hummers, they dump raw sewage in to the sound, there's lots of smog and thers a large patch of ocean thats called the dead zone where nothing can survive.

What TV/movie characters would fit in Seattle?
Posted by: Submit_News on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 - 09:03 AM |

It seems like every cheezy sitcom or comedy movie has the stereotypical "weird guy" character I always thought was too one-dimensional and exaggerated to actually exist in real life.... until I came to Seattle and found a town filled with them!
Anyway, here are a few off the top of my head:

I am from San Diego, and if I tell any "seattleite" that I am from San Diego they automatically tell me, "you must hate it here huh"? Well no shit! I am here on orders from the military, not by choice. Depressing ass weather, people, traffic, cars, style, coffee, city, no young people, just bearded fuckin inbreds. Fuck you very much seattle!

It's All James Polk's Fault!!!
Posted by: Submit_News on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 - 09:50 AM |
|
 |
James K. Polk was the 11th president of the United States, in the late 1840s. Part of his administration was spent arguing with England over the Oregon Boundry. Polk used the famous rallying cry "54-40 or Fight" meaning he wanted to draw the line at latitude 54-40 (if you don't know where that is, look up Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, which is just over 53 degrees, so it'll give you some idea).

Wow! I googled "Seattle Sucks" and I am not alone!

I agree with all the criticisms sited below. The depth of Seattle hospitality is a mile wide and an inch deep. In Chicago people are gruff at first, but genuine, and actually give a shit, and take a genuine interest in what you are about.

Shitty Housing

Has anyone noticed how shitty the housing is in Seattle. It is like all of the houses are variation on the Brady Bunch home. This is the most overpriced city for what you get anywhere. What is crazy is people will tell you that you need to see the inside to appreciate these home. I think for $500k I should be able to live somewhere that you can drive to and be proud of...

why do people here care so much if you don't like seattle? ever heard of freedom of speech? that's right: In America people are aloud to hate whatever they want to. you might have your own opinion about it, but it's still written in stone.

Why are people here so controlling?
Posted by: Submit_News on Saturday, February 17, 2007 - 10:04 AM |
|

There seems to be this preconceived notion that people in Seattle are supposed to be "polite," but in reality I find that they're much more control freaks that are obsessed with what everyone else is doing, even compared to people from cities which have a reputation for being rude or aggressive.

I was at Bellevue Mall today and I happen to chit chat with one of the customers in the watch department and she was making a comment about some other city that she used to live when the sales lady interrupted us by saying "what are you doing here in seattle?" How defensive they get is beyond me!! The customer was talking about New York but in her defensive mode she thought we were talking about this beloved city!! she is so smug and very insecure !!!Typifies the locals' mentality!! Comment on this .. Oh by the way I am just waiting for Spam that the idiot is bookmarking in this site..What a loser......HA! HA!
