The anti-Seattle people are much more eloquent

I've been reading these posts (the ones that aren't broken) and it's interesting how the people who don't like Seattle have much more interesting, witty, eloquent posts with better spelling and grammar.

Seattle used to be fabulous, in the 70s-80s. The Ave. was lined with street musicians and really unique shops, and Jazz Alley was there. Downtown was a LOT more interesting. It was a Shangri-La.
Then Microsoft, the tech boom, etc. came and Seattle decided to be "world-class"

Seattle is what it ain't

Seattle is and deserves to be Seattle again. To those of us who know better, it is a city, only kept alive in the twisted imagination of a select few marketing and advertising managers, who's job it is to spin hay into straw.

Changing the character of an area

Having traveled the west a good bit, and having grown up on the east side of the Cascades, it seems that the migration of outsiders into small rural areas throughout the west fall into two pretty distinct groups:

After a recent trip to Manhatten and Boston, I've come to truly realize how absurd this city is and how ridiculous the people are.

Weather you listen to goth/industrial music or not, if you REALLY want a taste of what just about ALL Seattle assholes are like, make sure to check out seagoth.org.
You will be amazed how people talk to each other around there.

Don't Confuse:

1. Liberalism with Political Correctness.
I've noticed on some of these posts that people, especially when the east side of the cascades comes into play, blame Seattle's problems on "liberalism." Truly liberal people are very accepting of other beliefs, cultures, and lifestyles. In general, other points of view. Political Correctness, much like its conservative counter-point, is very judgmental and selective. Seattle used to be liberal (in my mind, a great thing to be). Seattle, as has been often stated in this site, is Politically correct (not so great).

Concrete Reasons Why Seattle Sucks

First of all, I wan't to tell you how happy I am that your site exists. No longer do I feel alone in a community full of jean shorts-wearing and sandals-sporting Stepford drones.
Now for my introductory rant.

So, now that we're all (largely) agreed about the troglodytic and dysfunctional social environment up here: what is one to do?

It seems that many of the folks in Seattle have lost their sense of humor. Those people take themselves far too seriously.

I must admit that I like this site. It is a nice forum to bring out the other side of the Forbes Top Place to Live article. No city is perfect. Like a million other people I moved here, left here, and moved back here. It is some type of strange sickness. Then again, I did this with Austin, Texas too.

Take your pick.
You know initially I was drawn to this site because I thought there would be some real discussion and/or rants about real problems that abound in Seattle, and there are plenty.
