Topic City
I gotta tell ya, you blow me away Seattle. From filthy disgusting hippies, dumb ass pc liberals and affirmative action assholes, you take the cake Seattle! You cant build a decent transportation system, the crime here is unbelievable since you are a wannebe ghetto, you homeless situation is out of control and you have no good place to eat (Or smoke) and close up at 8pm. WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?! I only found a couple of decent women to talk to and boy am I lucky! They are nice people and real friends. One joined the Army though and the other is busting her ass and getting no repect. like myself or my other friends. My mother who has Cardio vascular disease and needs medical treatment badly, But she is always bumped for some ugly black welfare mother with eight kids. And no I am not racist I am half-black myself, dont even pull thr race card okay? In other major cities, well this place isnt major but what the hell, People "TALK" to other people, People like to go out, people want to make something of themselves and live a fairly decent life. NOT HERE! You cant do that in Seattle. The place where you need a college degree to wash dishes. Where unruly teens hang out at westlake and pretend to be homeless. If I see a kid and he wants money from me, but he has a 300 dollar cell phone and a bluetooth in his ear, he aint homeless to me. For ten long and drery years I have been picked on, busted down, overlooked, lost a father who busted his ass as a Deputy sheriff for King County and got no pention from them after years of deticated service, And who died few months before we were supposed to movce to Brooklyn by the way. Why I am treated this way? I think its because I speak my mind and tell it like it is. Unlike you fellow Seattlites who love REI and goretex pants with your soy milk triple chocolate mint hemp grande lattes with whipped cream on top. You people make me sick. You have let corrupt politicians overun you and PC culture break you. You are the magnum opus for what a PC city should be. You the prime example of what to show people how not to be. Passive Agressive assholes. I have not been able to find a job in nine months thanks to your silly and outrageous hiring standards. Except if you a Muslim or ghetto trash, you love that Now dont you Seattle? You have a police force that is lazy and stupid and a court system that will punish a j-walker for 3 years in jail while a child rapist gets ordered to a shrink while you cut him a check becuase you wasted his time. The only thing that is keeping me here is this: A few friends, my diploma and having to save up money. I thank the lord every day that my mother is a Jew because I have a free citizenship to Israel. Oh thats right, To the land of milk and honey with arabs ans suicide bombers mixed in it. I dont care about the suicide bombers or the terrorists, I care about getting out of here. Seattle, The emerald city, the creme de la creme of smelly bums and filthy auto toilets. I hope I do find my future Israeli wife here, so at least I can have someone good to that is a signifacant other. To alway have some fun with. Ohhh well, I am just daydreaming. I wont find her here. So you know what? This ends my tirade. I have to tell it like it is. Maybe the exact same things happen in other cities like I have described to you. I am sure they do, But you know what? Not nearly on a Seattle level. Not even close. NYC dosent even come close to this crap. Out by "08" thats what my plan is. Also for my dear mother and friends. One friend is out already bless her heart.
And BTW, any anti-semetic comments will be lauged at and disregarded by myself. Racism is hilarious
Whoever said "The bluest skies I ever saw are in Seattle" is a Schmuck. Would I like to have a talk with him, a very, very long talk.
And BTW, any anti-semetic comments will be lauged at and disregarded by myself. Racism is hilarious. I really dont care what you think of me at all. I just have a few people I really care about and most of all a G-d in heaven. If you dont like what I say people, dont read. Its the truth.
Before I go.....
Just leave here if you have any sanity. You will like Florida much better, Or maybe Hawaii, no wait North Carolina seems good, Brazil has the carnival, oh wait wait...... There are thousands of places to go from here, and they are all calling your name. Pick one shall you? And you shall live to be happy again.

Yeah, travel the world. See and do as much as you can. Israel's an interesting and beautiful place. Haifa, especially, is a nice city.

Good post , totally agree, especially about the fucking keystone cops they got here they wouldn't last two weeks in So Cal, well the criminals would like them anyway. One thing you said, "You won't find her here" is so true. Don't worry about the anti-semitism there is mostly thoughtful transplants on this blog, venting and trying to make our way to the exits like you. Peace Brother.

It's not just you who feel this way. All of us venting here do. I've been living here for over ten years and there's something really wrong with people here. They're sooo afraid to socialize/communicate with others. I don't get that from people out of this area - whether rest of the country or the world. I have some nice friends here, but I do feel lonely in a romantic sense - it's really hard to date passive aggressive people here. So I'm making a resolution to leave this place shortly after I turn 40. People tell me that I'm really pretty, so why can't I find a decent boyfriend/husband? I think it has got nothing to do with looks and success (and yes, I own my own home and car with the successful I.T. career I've had for years). It has to do with values. Shifty, selfish, passive aggressive nature doesn't quite gel with friendliness and strightforwardness, does it?

Man, the law enforcement topic is a whole book in and of itself.
To the topic poster:
Much respect to your father (and condolensces to your family) for his public service. I can imagine that being in law enforcement here --especially compared to other places where police are shown respect and not treated antagonistically by the state government -- is a frustrating job.
Even with some of the recent legislation that's supposed to fix some of the state's broken probation system, this state has shown diregard for monitoring parolees, and not giving its police adequate resources and latitude, or legislating tougher public safety laws.
Along with attracting the homeless, Washington's soft on crime stance will also attract a criminal element.
I'm all for intelligently exercising our constitutional rights as citizens, and having controls on law enforcement, but an effective state needs to make the job attractive to get the best quality force and keep them adequately staffed. As I think another poster mentioned once: too liberal of a government will degenerate into a police state (look at Fascist Italy as an example) when crime spirals out of control.
I don't think I've ever seen a place like this where police officers themselves are under more scrutiny than the criminals they're here to deter and stop.
This all comes back to the Seattleite self-absorbtion. To wit, if the crime didn't happen to them directly, they don't care about it.
Let's look at some of WA state's 2005 crime rankings (of the 50 states/crimes per 100,000)
7th highest (that's bad, now) total crimes committed
26th highest (in the middle) violent crime
6th highest property crime
31st highest murder (okay, not too bad)
5th highest rape/sex crimes
25th highest robbery
29th highest assaults
9th highest burlgaries
6th highest theft
3rd highest vehicle theft
Source: http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/
Which tells me that WA is only a moderately violent place, but has a high concentration of pervs and theives.

More proof that no one wants to work in law enforcement or corrections here:
