City Today in the news a pedophile from Washington state who moved to L.A. was complaing because the community and the city have come together and have banned him from going anywhere near chilldren permanently. In his words it's "Orwellian" and "nightmarish.". He also said he thought L.A. would be a nice place for him because of all the kittie attractions. He also said earlier in the week he was moving back to Washington.

Seattleite response to criticism cheat sheet
Posted by: evil_jackass on Wednesday, August 08, 2007 - 08:00 AM
alt1
City Print and cut out this card, which has the 10 most likely responses you'll get from Seattleites if you bring up any negatives about their city. Wait for the discussion to end, hand them this card, and tell them to have a nice day. Better yet, if you're a betting person, bet them that you already know their responses and then hand this to them to collect your prize.

Wish I'd read the Shmeng B4 moving out there!

City Whatever appealing &/or positive info you've heard about Seattle, forget it!

The reasons why I moved to Seattle are as unclear to me now as an
alzhiemer's patient trying to focus or remember anything.

However, here are some random fading memories, make of them what you will:

Who to blame for the suckitude
Posted by: evil_jackass on Saturday, August 04, 2007 - 09:51 PM
alt1
Theories Saying Seattle sucks means different things to different people. If you talk to someone who moved here, they'll likely have a litany of complaints, not the least of which being that the locals are passive aggressive, socially retarded weirdos.

If you ask a local, they'll tell you that Seattle sucks because of all of the "transplants" (that term is overused in this area) who came in and changed the place.

So who's right?

Note:Wow, I'm so happy to see a really good, well thought out, article.

Perception vs. Reality: Seattle for the wrong reasons
Posted by: Submit_News on Saturday, July 14, 2007 - 08:00 AM
alt1
City Thought I'd try to post something for the benefit of those who're thinking about moving to Seattle, are visiting this site, and may not believe all of the
basic Seattle sucks posts.

Here are some things to consider if you fall into that category -- or maybe you're already here and have buyers' remorse over the move.

I see two basic groups of transplants:
Involuntary transplants: Corporate moves, military, born here, etc
Voluntary transplants: self explanatory: for whatever reason, you actively sought to move out here.

BiPolar Monday at Pike Place
Posted by: nwwussey on Wednesday, July 11, 2007 - 08:00 AM
alt1
All Topics Today was another typical ride home on the bus. At 3rd and Pike we picked up all of my friends at the needle clinic who need to ride 3 blocks to the next stop. A fight ensued on the bus between "Crack Chick"" and "Meth Boy". The bus driver did not stop and demand for them to get off the bus but instead said "this is a nice bus...everyone be nice".

How to find out that Seattle SUCKS.
Posted by: Submit_News on Friday, July 06, 2007 - 08:00 AM
alt1
City These are the things that I have gathered to find out How Seattle Sucks. You be the Judge:

1. Try ordering an Americano in any Starbucks when you are in a hurry. ( it will Literally take all day).
2. Try driving Speed limit and you will find yourself STUCK 10 miles less than the limit due to the SLOW driving of the rest. (Most of them brake incessantly every 20 seconds for NO REASON).

Portland kicks Seattle's ass!
Posted by: Submit_News on Wednesday, July 04, 2007 - 08:00 AM

City There was a time when Seattle was actually a decent town but unfortunately all of that went out the door. Fortunately, there is one Northwest town that has gotten it right so far. Portland, Oregon. I just went for a visit a few days ago and here's what I have to say about Portland.

I hate Seattle and the UW
Posted by: TomFromEastCoast on Monday, July 02, 2007 - 08:00 AM

City I hate Seattle and the University of Washington. I lived there between August 2002 and May 2003 while attending the University of Washington. Ah! It was the worst year of my life. Seattle is a lifeless, dreary shithole, and the University of Washington is full of the most anti-social and despicable people I have ever encountered.

My work on a political campaign in Seattle
Posted by: Submit_News on Sunday, July 01, 2007 - 10:28 PM
alt1
City I worked for an initiative/referendum campaign some time ago. I had moved out from the East Coast for the job. What I've read on this board does sound oddly famliar. I guess I did experience some serious passive aggressive behavior in the course of my employment. I just never really thought much about it until I stumbled onto this site.

You cant build a decent transportation system, the crime here is unbelievable since you are a wannebe ghetto, you homeless situation is out of control and you have no good place to eat (Or smoke) and close up at 8pm.

Note:You know what? I edited this thing but it took me so long that I actually got logged out when I tried to post it up. I'm not going through that again. Sorry.

They're not polite, they're entitled
Posted by: Submit_News on Friday, May 18, 2007 - 11:47 PM
alt1
Theories Seattelites, and Washingtonians have an interesting concept of what's "rude," or polite." My theory is that they exist in a solipsistic bubble of self-entitlement, that includes no obligations on their part and that they should get respect, but give none in return.
